A Prayer of Thanksgiving
Hello family,
So throughout the month of November, on our social media platforms, we posted a daily thankfulness challenge for everyone to participate in. From some of the feedback we received, it really challenged some of you to step out of your comfort zone and also to make thanksgiving a lifestyle, a daily habit.
At the end of the challenge, we included A Prayer of Thanksgiving which can be downloaded for free below. Remember that thanksgiving should be a daily practice and we are to give thanks even in hardships.
This is a great prayer taken from scriptures that you can pray in thanksgiving to God, especially for some of us who might find praying challenging because we don’t know what to say.
This prayer will guide you and give you a starting place. Here we go ...
Lord,
Today, I want to thank you for the gift of each new day. I know I sometimes take it for granted but I recognize and admit that without Your breath in my lungs, I will not be alive.
Thank you for who You are, for what You have done, for what you are doing, and for what You are going to do.
Lord, thank You because if not for Your grace, I don’t know where I would be. Your Word says that it is by Your grace that we are not consumed or destroyed.
Thank You for Your mercy that is new every morning. Without You Lord, I don’t know how I would have made it this far. I might not be where I would like to be right now in life but I still want to thank You for where I am right now. I know that You who have begun a good thing in my life is faithful to bring it to completion.
Thank You Lord for what You are currently doing in my life. I know You are preparing me for the place You are taking me to, my promise land. It is because You love me that You take the time to make sure I am ready for the blessings You are bringing into my life. I know that it is because You don’t want the weight of the blessings to crush me, so Father I say thank You.
Thank You for caring about my well-being. Thank You for taking the time to teach me, to lead me, and to guide me, making sure I am on the right path. Thank You for your Presence that goes before me, with me, and even behind me making sure I am protected from every side.
Thank You for giving Your angels charge over me and instructing them to lift me up before I dash my foot against a stone, against any hidden trap of the enemy.
Thank You for having good and wonderful thoughts about me, thoughts to give me a hope and a future; thoughts to give me an expected end. My life, my destiny is secure in Your hands.
Thank You for my family and friends. Thank You for blessing me with people around me that comfort and support me. Lord, I can’t even count all my blessings or name them one by one because they are just so much!
Thank You for meeting all my needs and doing exceedingly, abundantly above all I can ever ask for, think, or imagine. Thank You for every good thing that I have.
Father, I just want to say thank You for EVERYTHING!
In Jesus’ Name, Amen!
I pray that this prayer blesses you and that as you pray it in thanksgiving to God, He will arise and step into your life and into any situation you may be going through. I pray that as you give Him thanks, He will overshadow you with His Presence, His power, and His love. Remain blessed.
